The Terra D&#8217;Eclano 2004 is the result of the first harvest in Quintodecimo. Complexity fragrant taste balance, suppleness of tannins, breadth of taste and aromatic persistence, are the most sensory characteristics expressed in this wine.</p>

<p>Climate and vintage: vintage wine Ornellaia 2003 was characterized by abundant winter rains that allowed the vineyards to arrive in April with good water reserves in soil, a fact important in light scorching summer that he was preparing. In spring, the budding of the vines has been a bit &#8216;late, but with the drought (only 14 mm of rainfall from May to early September) and high temperatures, the vines had 1 week in advance of the bloom. In summer, maximum temperatures have arrived at 35 ° C between 20 and 28 July and 39 ° C between 3 and 9 August. Between 21 and 28 August, with a couple of weeks in advance, the youngest of the Merlot grapes were collected during two individual steps. In other vineyards at the beginning of September, tests confirmed a high level of sugar but a phenolic maturity still unfinished. The harvest for this red wine is distributed only on 10 September, after a couple of temperate which reduced temperatures, with the collection of clusters in perfect condition. <p><strong>Vinification and aging:</strong></p>
<p>The grapes for red wine Ornellaia 2003 were hand picked in boxes of 15 Kg ciascuna.La alcoholic fermentation took place partly in wooden vats and partly in stainless steel tanks at a temperature not exceeding 30 ° C. Each variety and each plot was refined.The maceration lasted for 25-30 days after which the wine was racked into French oak barrels (70% new French oak barrels, 30% second passage barriques) where he completed malolactic fermentation. The aging wine in oak barrels lasted for a total of 18 months in temperature-controlled cellar at the Estate. After the first 12 months of aging, has been doing the assembly, after which the wine was reintroduced into the barrels for an additional 6 mounths. The wine was then subjected to further refinement in bottle for 12 months before they are released .</p>

This treasure trove dates back to the nineteenth century when Abel Tesseron acquired this property and began his collection of rare and priceless cognacs. A tradition continued by his son and grandson Alfred, who runs the business today and who also owns the prestigious Château Pontet-Canet, a Pauillac Classified Growth in 1855.</p>
<p>Abel Tesseron created his own cognac company in 1905, relying at the time on two separate estates, one situated in the Grande Champagne area (Boneuil) and the other in Petite Champagne (Saint-Surin). He adopted a long term policy of building up stocks of eaux-de-vie, carefully conserved in a twelfth century crypt. These old and rare treasures, besides achieving a great reputation amongst a small circle of connoisseurs, have always been sought after by the big cognac merchants, assured of the fine quality of the eaux-de-vie they would use to complete their blend.</p>

<p><strong>Ornellaia Bolgheri DOC Superiore</strong></p>
<p>Variety: 60% Cabernet Sauvignonm 15% Merlot 20% Cabernet Franc 5% Petit Verdot</p>
<p>Climate and vintage: vintage wine Ornellaia 2003 was characterized by abundant winter rains that allowed the vineyards to arrive in April with good water reserves in soil, a fact important in light scorching summer that he was preparing. In spring, the budding of the vines has been a bit &#8216;late, but with the drought (only 14 mm of rainfall from May to early September) and high temperatures, the vines had 1 week in advance of the bloom. In summer, maximum temperatures have arrived at 35 ° C between 20 and 28 July and 39 ° C between 3 and 9 August. Between 21 and 28 August, with a couple of weeks in advance, the youngest of the Merlot grapes were collected during two individual steps. In other vineyards at the beginning of September, tests confirmed a high level of sugar but a phenolic maturity still unfinished. The harvest for this red wine is distributed only on 10 September, after a couple of temperate which reduced temperatures, with the collection of clusters in perfect condition. The yields have been below expectations: about 30% less.</p>
<p><strong>Vinification and aging:</strong></p>
<p>The grapes for red wine Ornellaia 2003 were hand picked in boxes of 15 Kg ciascuna.La alcoholic fermentation took place partly in wooden vats and partly in stainless steel tanks at a temperature not exceeding 30 ° C. Each variety and each plot was refined separatamente.La maceration lasted for 25-30 days after which the wine was racked into French oak barrels (70% new French oak barrels, 30% second passage barriques) where he completed fermentation malolattica.L &#8216;aging wine in oak barrels lasted for a total of 18 months in temperature-controlled cellar at the Estate. After the first 12 months of aging, has been doing the assembly, after which the wine was reintroduced into the barrels for an additional 6 mesi.Il wine was then subjected to further refinement in bottle for 12 months before they are released .</p>

<p> Very nice complexity on the nose, quiet light and elegant, yet it is profound with layers of aromas, hazelnuts, brown sugar, tobacco, nougat, dark chocolate and cedar wood, good depth on the palate, mature with a good balance, and a lot of complex flavours, nutty, spicy and very long finish.</p>
